Setting up the V3 network for a baseball environment requires a reliable and structured connection between several key components. This guide walks you through the essential steps to ensure your Trackman V3 system is properly connected and powered.
Setup Guide for V3 Network
- Internet Connection to Server
- Begin by locating your CAT (Category) Ethernet cable that provides internet access. Ensure that:
- The cable is securely plugged into the server’s Ethernet port.
- The connection is solid with no visible damage to the cable or port.
- The server recognizes the internet connection (check for activity lights or network status indicators).
- Begin by locating your CAT (Category) Ethernet cable that provides internet access. Ensure that:
- Server to Planet Switch Connection
- Next, verify the link between the server and the Planet switch:
- Confirm that the Ethernet cable is firmly connected at both ends.
- Ensure that the switch only has 2 cables plugged in
- Check the Planet switch for link/activity lights to ensure data is flowing between the server and the switch.
- If no lights are visible, try a different port or cable to rule out hardware issues.
- Next, verify the link between the server and the Planet switch:
- Planet Switch to Trackman V3 Unit
- Once the server and switch are connected, move on to the Trackman V3 unit:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the Planet switch to the V3 unit.
- Again, check for link lights on both the switch and the V3 unit.
-
If the V3 unit has a display or interface, verify that it acknowledges the network connection.
- Once the server and switch are connected, move on to the Trackman V3 unit:
- UPS Power Backup Check
- With the network connections in place, ensure your UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is functioning correctly:
- Confirm that the UPS is plugged in and turned on.
- Check that the appropriate indicator lights are illuminated (typically showing power, battery status, and load).
- Make sure the server and other critical components are connected to the battery-backed outlets on the UPS.
- With the network connections in place, ensure your UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is functioning correctly:
