This article provides guidance on power supply compatibility for Edgertronic cameras to ensure safe and reliable operation in both field and lab environments.
This article is intended to help users:
- Understand the correct voltage, current, and polarity requirements
- Prevent equipment damage caused by improper power sources
- Maintain consistent camera performance during operation
- Support proper integration with external systems such as Trackman
Power On and Power Off
The camera does not have a dedicated power switch. To power off the camera, unplug the power adapter from the AC source. When the camera LED is green, it is safe to disconnect power.
Power Supply Requirements
Edgertronic cameras require the following power specifications:
- SC1 Series: 12 VDC @ 1.5 A
- SC2 Series: 12 VDC @ 2.5 A
- Connector: 2.5 mm / 5.5 mm center-positive coaxial jack
Approved Power Supplies
SC1 Series
- 12V 1.5A — SL Power MENB1020A1203F01
- 12V 2.5A — SL Power ME30A1203F01
SC2 Series
- 12V 2.5A — SL Power ME30A1203F01
Included Power Supply
- SC1 and SC2 series cameras now ship with the ME30A1203F01 power supply
- Previously, SC1 cameras shipped with the MENB1020A1203F01 power supply
If you experience issues with your camera, verify that you are using a compatible power supply.
Important Safety Information
- Always use a power supply that meets the specified voltage, current, and polarity requirements
- Using an incorrect power source can damage the camera
The following are not covered under warranty (will need to verify with Edgertronic):
- Reversed polarity
- Incorrect voltage
- Use of incompatible power supplies
Do not use a Trackman B1 power supply with Edgertronic cameras. Doing so will cause damage and require expensive repair.
Summary
To ensure proper operation:
- Use only approved or equivalent power supplies
- Verify specifications before connecting power
- Avoid incompatible third-party power sources
